Series Director Paul Hatfield has announced his new GT1 series for 2008.

I, along with Troy Kendall, am organizing a series for next year to run a long format style Touring Cars series. Each event will be two 30 minute long races with one required pit stop for a battery change. (The same race format currently used in the Porsche Cup Series.)

This series will follow the ASERS GT1 rules, which is for 4wd touring car chassis. Motors will be any 19t brushed or the Novak SS10.5 brushless motor.

Although this series is being put together for next season, we would like to hold a race on Saturday Sept. 29th. Yes, I know, that's the same weekend as Vegas, but for those of you not attending that race, this will give you a chance to experience long format style racing. It will also give those of you who plan on running the Petie-Le-Mans race on Oct.13th a chance to test and tune your cars. I will have a complete set of rules available soon.

A couple of other things. Ben, Troy and I will meet with Corey and Jeff later this year to organize a schedule for next year to try and keep the overlaping of events to a minimum. I am also considering running this series in the afternoon so those of us who wish to race and APEX and IR/CR can do so in the morning and then attend the GT1 races later in the day.
